Todayââ¬â¢s researchers use a variety of scientific techniques along with others test, predict behavior and explain it. â⬠¢ Experimental method involving manipulating oneââ¬â¢s ability to chance to determine if the changes in oneââ¬â¢s ability to change cause changes in anotherââ¬â¢s ability to change. â⬠¢ Correlational studies look for relationships among the different changes. The length of longitudinal studies can last 20 years or more observational research involves studying the same individuals over a longer than normal period of time. Data may be gathered repeatedly in some cases, there is generally a collection of information at the beginning of the study, and throughout the study additional information is collected as needed.
